We sought to put together a list that will help you get the most out of Hypnosis. ‘Rules’ is a little strong in this case, so let us change that and instead offer the following guidelines:

1. Say Yes to the potential of Hypnosis and be open to experiencing something a little different if you’re new to Hypnosis.

2. Finding a voice or style of delivery you can associate with will make the message the focus rather than the Hypnotist – do you prefer male or female, accent or little accent, background music, more or less talking?

3. Find a quite, comfortable place, seated or lying down and clear of distractions (not driving a car!).

4. Avoid Self-Hypnosis when you’re tired as you wont be able to concentrate as well.

5. Like physical training, don’t overdo it to begin with – start gradually with a 10 min session once a day, then move to two x 10 min sessions a day.

6. Remember that whatever you expect, you tend to get.

7. Your imagination is infinitely more powerful than your knowledge.

8. Every suggestion acted upon creates less opposition when the suggestion is made again. Self hypnosis can easily be used to change habit patterns.

9. Repeat use – set a little schedule for yourself to repeat the sessions.

10. ?

We’ve got an idea for the 10th one, but think it’s best that you make your own – think about what you might like to acheive with Hypnosis and how you’d further develop the conscious and subconscious power of your mind.
